Rice sack!
My physical therapist (for my hip) suggested that I use a rice sack to put some heat on my hip. So this is the sack that I made. I wanted to personalize it and what better then ones name to do that with.
What can you do with a dollar?
This was the challenge for day 15. I was not really inspired but did manage to fold a dollar bill into a tennis looking shoe. I am working on some of the other daily challenges and will post as soon as I finish them.
Alphabet letters
I saw in a book that they made alphabet letters 3D. I thought it looked like fun so decided to do some. I finished one for Heidi and myself. Still have to work on Ayden's. I think I will finish his for his birthday. First you find alphabet letters on the internet that look interesting. Print one copy of it and then trace around it on two pieces of cardboard. So you have two copies of the letter. Then you cut strips of cardboard for the sides. I cut them 2" wide. You take some masking tape and tape the side pieces to the two letters a little bit at a time. After I finished taping the letters together I put a surface coating on the letters. Kind of to mask the tape. Then I spray painted them and glued some pictures on them. After I put the pictures on, I then mod podged them to hold them in place. On Heidi's I found some cute pictures of owls. She's really into them and on mine I used pictures of shoes.

The pinterest community
Well....I've joined Pinterest. It seems kind of interesting. We'll see how it goes. I am also on Ravelry.com. That's a fun website for knitters. I don't have school tomorrow so am going to add some new pictures and posts.

Couldn't do Creativity Journal Day 4 today....
It was way too dark when I got home to do my challenge today. I am supposed to go on a walk outside and create something. So I will do this tomorrow and take a picture to post.
Today I finished another knitting project. Every year I make my friend Teri a cover for her day planner that she keeps in her purse. She just allows me to create whatever I want. It's very cool for me and it's great to know that a friend has faith that whatever you do, she will like it and appreciate the thought behind it.
This year I covered the planner with a garter stitched brown wool cover and then I knit a dragonfly (her favorite) and attached it to the front.

Daily Creativity Journal...Day 3!
Today I had to make something out of paper. But I couldn't use scissors or glue or draw on it. I used some watercolor paper that I had painted on a long time ago. I used my hands and just ripped it to make the shape of a boot. Then ripped some more for a faux fur cuff. I used tape to connect them.
Daily Creativity Journal...Day 2!
I was to use my favorite animal as my inspiration today. I really couldn't think of a favorite animal but used the colors from my dog Gabe. He's black and white and quite lovely. I made a collage of black and white shoes.
My Daily Creativity Journal....Day 1!
My first challenge was this: make something that fits in the palm of your hand using only the materials in your imediate environment. My theme for the year is shoes. I've been knitting a lot so decided to use this skill in this first challenge. I made a pin in the shape of a shoe! Red of course!
"knit your pearls" necklace
The first thing I knit was a necklace. I thought it turned out quite lovely and I may make some more. I unfortunately made it in blues which I don't wear much but I really liked the yarns.
Back to it again.
Here is a new year. I am going to do a block of the month club to make a quilt for Ayden. I am doing this with Jeanne so it should be a lot of fun. I am also knitting 52 items in 52 weeks for a challenge to myself. And lastly I am doing a creative journal with shoes as my theme. So I will post pictures of all of my projects on my blog and write about them.
